What is a First Look?

The First Look…

…is an alternative way for you to see each other for the first time on the morning of your wedding. It’s an incredibly intimate moment between you and your partner, and probably the only part of the day where you will be fully alone in each others company. Its a wonderful way to start off your celebrations, and an added bonus is that it alleviates a lot of the built up anticipation of the wedding ceremony, as the second you look at each other, you feel a sense of relief, and feel as though you can breathe for the first time that day.

So how does it work? It's basically a big reveal. We will stand the groom facing away from where the bride will enter the room, we will get the bride into position and make sure her dress and veil are laid out beautifully. We will take a few shots of this moment whilst the groom anxiously awaits turning around to see his bride (it’s very exciting). Once your bride is picture perfect, we will signal to you to turn around when you’re ready - there’s something about the groom turning around and seeing his bride during a first look that generally makes them overcome with emotion. I think it’s the fact that there’s no other distractions around, all of his attention is on you. Once the initial emotions subside, you can breathe, relax, chat, show your groom all the gorgeous details of your dress, hair and make up, and embrace each other, whilst baring in mind you are about to embark on the first step of your journey towards forever.

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
